Drape Yourself in Luxurious (and Sustainable) Fabrics!

Be chic, save the planet... all in a day's work for our Canadian designers.

There's no getting around it: When you buy Canadian-made, the fabrics used are simply better. There's a palpable difference between touching a cotton top at Victoire and one at big chain stores (we won't name names ;). Whereas fast fashion relies on cheaper and thinner fabrics to keep their high production rates and mega-profits rolling, Canadian designers choose their fabrics with greater care and concern, not only for longevity and beauty, but for sustainability as well, meaning a better outcome for both you and Mama Earth.

Our designers work tirelessly to source the best quality fabrics around. This season, Dagg & StaceyEve Gravel, and the just-landed collection from Montreal's Eliza Faulkner are using a large number of fabrics that are Oeko-Tex Certified, meaning that every component has been tested for harmful substances and found not to be ecologically harmful.

Meemoza is using GOTS-Certified cotton, which stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and is the toughest organic textile standard to meet. Valerie Dumaine is using a lot of upcycled fabric, using reclaimed fabric as a raw material, diverting it from landfill and incineration. Not to mention Noemiah's use of lycocell and Bodybag's use of tencel, both environmentally-friendly fabrics made out of wood pulp. The list goes on and on!

Not only are our designers mindful in what fabrics they use, but we are also mindful in how we package our online orders. We've switched in recent years from plastic enveloppes to 100% recycled paper or compostable mailers, and we don't include a return label or envelope unless you ask for it afterwards, also reducing potential waste.
