From the Ottawa-based artist, Munea Wadud: "This design symbolizes a global decolonization, a way of hoping and working towards a future where colonialism and colonizer-like thinking will be defeated.
When I was making this design I was thinking of all the ways I, as a person of colour, constantly have to assimilate and re-evaluate who I am and where I'm from. The frustration and sense of defeat I feel is exhausting - so I decided to make a design that gives me hope."
