EMILY!

Emily is probably best described as the glue keeping this whole operation together. Emily joined our team at about the exact time we went from being a teeny tiny 2-woman show, to a multiple location outfit with a growing team and customer base. There don't seem to be any great analogies for a 3-person team (3rd wheel? AS IF. Only if that third wheel is like the 3rd wheel of a super bad-ass & decked out in rhinestones tricycle), but we thank the universe multiple times a week for completing our Katie & Reg duo into a much more efficient trio.

1. What is your zodiac sign?
I'm a strong Leo. Yikes!

2. What do you do at Victoire?
Well to copy Ambie's answer I would totally agree that all of us have our hands in pockets all over Victoire. Whether it be selling pretty dresses, re-ordering killer styles, making the schedule, or posting a silly Instagram picture, we do it all. Every person at Victoire really adds their own spice in some way. But in actuality, I'm the Manager of the two Ottawa shops! Been reppin' here for almost five years!

3. Which Beyonce video most accurately embodies your true nature?
This question made me spiral into watching an evening of Beyonce. Not to say most of my evenings don't involve some Bey Bey but this question made me intensely watch her videos in a new way. So after MUCH research, I will have to say 7/11. There is always some sort of dance party on any given night I hang with my girls. Shaya, Ainslie and I have been on my coffee table a few times together breaking it down. For god's sakes, even our "Victoire Summit" ended in us recreating this video (after we were done with all the strategic planning, of course.) Somersaults 4ever.

4. Tell us something you have picked up from your Mom!
I have to brag and say I have a pretty amazing family!!! My Mom always remembers to laugh. We are the two in a room full of people cracking each other up and drinking boxed wine. She made me the sarcastic cat that I am. My parents are unconditionally supportive and that's something I hope I can be for my friends and family. And I am a hugger. Ask anyone about my Dad and they will tell you about Mr. Morreale's big bear hugs!

5. Describe your perfect day off.
My perfect day off would be to sleep in a little and wake up to the smell of delicious coffee that I would drink on my porch with my roomie. Then we would grab some of the others in the gang and head out on our bikes to picnic somewhere, preferably by water. After some afternoon ciders and mimosa's a nap would be in order... I would then attempt to coax someone into taking me for a motorcycle ride. I'd end the day by meeting back up at the Bytowne or Mayfair for a late movie. Best.

6. You are doing the slow, dramatic walk down the stairs in your prom dress in a teen movie. What song is playing?
I think the song would be:  Brand New - Soco Amaretto Lime. One things is for sure though, I am definitely NOT wearing the horrendous J.Lo-like dress I actually wore to my prom...gulp!
Seriously, ask me about my prom dress next time you see me. Advice tip: be bold. But also be careful. Sometimes being cute and classic is the best way to go!

7. If your look had a name what would it be?
Katie once dubbed it "Double G" - meaning "Gotti Goth". A little mix of my Italian background with a hint of 90's teen angst pretty much sums it up.

8. Recommend something to me!
Brutal honesty: I do very un-cool things outside of work most of the time. I LOVE a good movie but I have been doing nothing but watching Ted Talks about Dinosaurs and Nashville on Netflix. Yes, Nashville. After blowing through the Friday Night Lights series I just NEEDED more Connie Britton.

After visiting the Elvis Honeymoon House in Palm Springs I became moderately obsessed with Elvis. I read "Elvis & Me" by Priscilla Presley and could hardly put it down. I can't decide what I believe or not from the book, it was so odd. I then lent it to my Mom who is also just as bewildered by weird celebrity lifestyles.

Thanks for reading this week's "Get to know your Shopgirl!" A reminder that our bi-annualTo the Nines Vintage Dress Event is this Friday & Saturday at the West Wellington location! Hope to see you there!
