About the Process:

Block Carving + Printing
The traditional process of hand block printing on textiles, has been practiced in Rajasthan for around 500 years. The craft has been passed down for generations within families and communities, contributing to decentralized artisan textile production.

Hand Loomed (Khadi) Cottons + Silks
Select villages in India have been manually producing textiles for centuries. This practice was brought to light by Ghandi’s khadi movement in the 1920’s to provide villagers the path to self sufficiency. By choosing hand loomed fabrics, the studio plays a role in preserving these deep rooted traditions and empowering the artisans that make them. The collection uses khadi textiles, which are processed and spun without the use of electricity or harsh chemicals.

Sarah Sears designs custom hardware for many pieces throughout the collection. These are carefully cast in brass to preserve the finest details and elevate the finished garment.
